Our successes

The work below was led by our founder, most of it in contracts director and managing director roles before DCD & Sons was formed. Client names and contract documents stay confidential, so what follows is the shape of the work rather than a logo wall. Ask us on a call and we will talk through the detail of anything relevant to what you are bidding.

Track record

A £24m two-year network build contract won and then managed under the full NEC4 Term Service model. Framework submissions taken to the final table against national contractors. Master service agreements secured through negotiation for fibre builds. Public sector awards from county council frameworks to local authority schemes.

We write bids and run contracts for a living — which is why our weekly tender intelligence is free. See how we judge a tender.

Tender won, then delivered

£24m network build, NEC4 Term Service

A two-year network build contract won on submission, then run under the full NEC4 Term Service model — early warnings, compensation events, programme and payment administered properly rather than argued about after the fact.

Winning it and managing it are different jobs. Doing both is what tells you whether the rates in a submission survive contact with delivery.

Framework submissions

SMEs taken to the final table against national contractors

Framework bids written and structured so a smaller contractor is judged on capability rather than filtered out on presentation — the gap that decides most SME submissions before anyone reads the methodology.

Contract negotiation

Master service agreements for fibre builds

MSAs negotiated before signature, when the terms are still moveable: liability, payment terms, and where the risk of delay actually lands.

Public sector

County council frameworks to local authority schemes

Public procurement work across a range of buyers and thresholds, which is where the five reads in Bid or No Bid came from — the same questions asked every time, on live notices, with money at stake.

The public version

The clearest sample of how we assess a contract is the one we publish every week for free. Each notice in Bid or No Bid gets the same five reads we would apply to your submission — gate, fit, scoring, price, verdict.

How we judge a tender explains the framework, and roughly a third of what we publish is a No bid.
